BELARUS LOCATION Belarus officially Respublika Belarus (Republic of Belarus) is located in east central Europe, bordered by Russia, Ukraine, Poland and the Baltic republics. The capital and the biggest city is Minsk located in the center of the country. BELARUS HISTORY Belarus was an easy battleground between Polish and Russian armies in the 16th and 18th centuries. In 1812 Napoleons armies invaded and the area could never develop to its potentials. The country was again devastated during the World War II when the Germans attacked. MINSK Minsk the capital of Belarus has always been under controls of Poland, Lithuania or Russia during its long history , and at one stage was even occupied by Germans. CHERNOBYL Belarus has also received the largest fallout of radioactivity. Which contaminated the whole Belarus the citizens and also the nature that surrounds them. The city's anoniminity vanished when during a test the No4 reactor from the Chernobyl's reactor complex has exploded and releasing thirty to forty times the radioactivity of the atomic bombs dropped on the Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
